
Global technology supplier Metso will deliver two power boilers with a total capacity of 270MWe to Indonesian power company PT Cikarang Listrindo, in Babelan outside Jakarta, Indonesia.
Metso will also deliver its DNA control system, an automation and information
platform for process control, under the $100m order.
With this latest investment, the company’s electricity production will increase by about 30%.
The power boilers will be used in an undisclosed Indonesian plant, which is expected to be commissioned in 2016.
PT Cikarang Listrindo technical director EC P’ng said: "We are very pleased with the discussions we have had with the well-experienced Metso team on how to meet our local needs," P’ng added.
"We can now all focus and work on the project and to have it completed in a timely manner and to all our satisfaction."
The main part of the order is included in Metso’s Pulp, Paper and Power fourth quarter 2012 orders received and the control system in Automation fourth quarter 2012 orders received.
PT Cikarang Listrindo, which began operations in 1992 with a capacity of 76MWe, currently has a power generating capacity of 755MWe.
