Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas

Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas (MPSA) has received an order from Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) to supply turbine equipment for its 1,300MW Brunswick County Power Station located in Virginia, US.

MPSA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), will supply three M501GAC gas turbines and one steam turbine which will be manufactured and assembled at its manufacturing unit in Savannah, Georgia.

The new gas turbine combined cycle power plant, which will produce enough electricity to power more than 325,000 homes in the US, is scheduled to be complete in 2016.

MPSA will provide turbine maintenance, repair and outage services, replacement parts supply and remote monitoring for the gas turbines, under a separate long-term service agreement.

This is the second supply contract the company is delivering for VEPCO. The first supply contract was awarded in 2010 for the Warren County Power Station.
