Recurrent Energy, a solar project developer, has commenced the commercial operation on its three solar photovoltaic projects in Sacramento County, California, US.
The Municipal Utility District (SMUD) now receives 50MW of clean electricity from these three solar projects located in Elk Grove, Galt and Sloughhouse under a 20-year feed-in tariff .
Recurrent Energy CEO, Arno Harris, said the completion of these projects is the culmination of strong renewable energy policy and the dedicated work of mll the teams involved.
"The projects demonstrate our expertise in developing flexible utility-scale solutions in a short period of time, and help us achieve the end goal of a clean energy future," said Harris.
The company anticipates that the solar photovoltaic projects may produce approximately 90m kWh during the initial year of operation at the project, equivalent to the consumption of electricity of over 7,000 households in the US.
A fourth project is currently under construction and is anticipated to reach commercial operation later this year.
