Scottish energy services company Wood Group GTS will operate a 2,200MW power plant in US under a four-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract it signed with Entegra Power Group and Sundevil Power Holdings.
The Gila River power station, which is located near Phoenix, Arizona, features eight GE Frame 7FA gas turbines and eight heat recovery steam generators.
The plant also features Wood Group’s ECOMAX system, an automated gas turbine tuning technology that allows the optimisation of the gas turbine combustor and overall gas turbine performance.
Six of the eight turbines at the power plant already have ECOMAX installed, and the new agreement includes a provision to install ECOMAX on the other two units.
Wood Group GTS power operations president Frank Avery commented on the contract win; "Using our O&M experience, engineering experience and unique technology we identified ways to increase the overall plant performance through increased output and efficiency as part of the services we offer."
Entegra Power Group owns, operates and markets electric power in US, while Sundevil Power Holdings owns power blocks one and two at the Gila River Power Station.
