Solar energy solutions provider, groSolar, has received more than 8MW of solar modules from Canadian Solar for three utility and commercial photovoltaic (PV) projects in the US.
Canadian Solar supplied 6MW solar modules for a plant being constructed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania which is set to support agricultural soil restoration and farmland preservation in the area.
The plant will supply about 7.5m kWh of solar energy annually under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Canadian Solar has also supplied monocrystalline PV modules for a 1.8MW project located at the Camden County Municipal Utility Authority’s (CCMUA) wastewater treatment plant in New Jersey.
The electricity generated by the system, which is designed and built to span open wastewater treatment tanks, will be sold by the project host to CCMUA in the form of a PPA.
Additional modules were delivered to a 1.5MW PV system currently under construction at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
The three plants are expected to collectively produce about 4.95 million kWh of clean solar energy and offset nearly 3,712t of carbon emissions per year.
