SootTech has secured a SEK2.5m ($374,362) loan from the Swedish Energy Agency to introduce its plant boiler cleaning technology to the global market.
HISS technology can be applied to existing power plants to improve sootblowing and reduce fuel consumption.
SootTech CEO Erik Dahlén said the introduction of the technology has been more successful than the company expected.
"We are already getting requests from international power companies," Dahlén said.
"The loan from the Swedish Energy Agency will make it possible for us to respond more quickly to these requests."
Dahlén noted that a cleaner boiler will give a higher energy yield, while the technology also allows for the use of cheaper fuel.
Swedish Energy Agency business development in charge Mikael Fjallstrom said: "This technology can be applied globally and we estimate it to be especially interesting in growth regions where the incentives are great to maximise power efficiency as well as the use of alternative fuels, such as bio fuels, bio waste, and waste."
Andrzej Brud, CEO of Chalmers Innovation, one of the founders of SootTech added: "There is a huge potential for improved combustion in the big coal fired power plants in Europe.
"If you look at Germany, the decision to phase out nuclear power combined with demands on reduced emissions of carbon dioxide and increased use of biofuels makes this the right time to introduce SootTech in that country."
