Description

The project is being developed by Hibiki Wind Energy. Electric Power Development, Kyuden Mirai Energy, Hokutaku Renewable Energy Services, Kyudenko and Saibu Gas are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 30%, 10%, 10% and 10% respectively. The project will be spread over an area of 27km². The turbines will be mounted on fixed jacket foundations.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Kyushu Electric Power under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.28kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 240MW.

Contractors involved

Vestas Offshore Wind will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 25 units of V174-9.5 MW turbines, each with 9.6MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Offshore Wind is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project.
