EcoElectrica Penuelas Power Plant is a 574MW gas fired power project. It is located in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in March 2000.

Description
Naturgy Energy Group, ENGIE North America and Mitsui are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 47.5%, 35% and 15% respectively.
It is a CCGT with Cogen power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Liquified Petroleum Gas. The fuel is procured from Trinidad and Tobago.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in March 2000.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 22 years.
Contractors Involved
The Gas fired project have been supplied by Siemens and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator for the project.
ABB Combustion Engineering supplied steam boiler for the project.
