Description
The project is developed and owned by Adani Power Jharkhand. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant can also run on Light Diesel Oil / Heavy Fuel Oil / High Speed Diesel. The fuel is procured from Carmichael coal mine.

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in April 2023.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 1,496MW.
