Description
The project is currently owned by Hebei Zhanghewan Pumped Storage.
Zhanghewan is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 7.89 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 305m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The project generated 1,675 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $645.91m.

Contractors Involved
GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of pump turbines, each with 255MW nameplate capacity.
Voith Hydro Shanghai supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 278 MVA.
