DONG Energy has signed a sales and purchase agreement with Shell UK to acquire 100% of the shares of Shell Gas Direct for £30m.
Shell Gas Direct, a UK-based gas sales and marketing company has an annual supply of around 2.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas.

DONG Energy which operates offshore wind farms, a gas-fired power station and oil and natural gas exploration will derive an integrated market position in the UK through this acquisition.
The acquisition will complete in the coming months subject to approval from EU competition authorities.
