Hydro technology tenders activity in October 2019 saw 20 tenders announced, marking a drop of 41% over the last 12-month average of 34, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, hydro held the third position in terms of number of tenders during October 2019 with a 7.4% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Hydro technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 12 tenders and a 60% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 30% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 5% share
4. Electricity Supply: one tender and a 5% share.

Asia-Pacific leads hydro tenders activity in October 2019

Comparing tenders activity in hydro technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 16 tenders and a share of 80% during October 2019, followed by Europe with two tenders and a 10% share and Middle East and Africa with two tenders and a 10% share.

Hydro technology tenders in October 2019: Top companies by capacity

The top issuer of tenders in Hydro technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved was:West African Power pool (Benin) with 240MW from one tender.
