GE Renewable Energy has secured a contract to supply, install and commission 121 sets of its onshore wind turbines. The contract will supply SB Energy’s Pritam Nagar wind farm, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The 2.7-132 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 327MW, will have the potential to power 250,000 households in the country.
A GE spokesperson said the contract will be one of India’s single largest wind projects ever awarded.
GE Renewable Energy regional onshore wind leader Gilan Sabatier said: “We are proud to be selected by SB Energy to execute this flagship project for the country.
“The project is a testament to GE’s ability to not only offer state of the art technology but also site development solutions to maximise customer returns. We sincerely thank SB Energy for its trust and look forward to furthering our partnership as it continues to build its renewable energy portfolio.”
SB Energy, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, secured the project from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) during the tranche-VI auction of wind projects.
