The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 59 contracts and a 64.8% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 19 contracts and a 20.9% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine contracts and a 9.9% share
  4. Power Purchase Agreement: four contracts and a 4.4% share.

Asia-Pacific leads power plant activity in May 2021

Comparing contracts activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 37 contracts and a share of 40.7% during May 2021, followed by Europe with 35 contracts and a 38.5% share and North America with 11 contracts and a 12.1% share.

Solar is leading technology for power plant contracts in May 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 48 contracts with a 52.7% share, followed by wind with 25 contracts and a 27.5% share and biopower with eight contracts and an 8.8% share.

  3. Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Pakistan): 1,530MW capacity from one contract.
