T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2021 with 167 tenders and a 32.6% share, followed by Power Plant with 126 tenders and a 24.6% share and T&D Project with 91 tenders and a 17.7% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 44 tenders and a 53% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 39 tenders and a 47% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in Q2 2021

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 72 tenders with an 86.7% share, followed by solar with five tenders and a 6% share and hydro with four tenders and a 4.8% share.
