T&D equipment tenders in September 2021 saw 321 tenders announced, marking a rise of 7% over the last 12-month average of 300, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 307 tenders and a 95.6% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 12 tenders and a 3.7% share
3. Project Implementation: two tenders and a 0.6% share.

Middle East and Africa leads T&D equipment activity in September 2021

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Middle East and Africa held the top position with 115 tenders and a share of 35.8% during September 2021, followed by North America with 100 tenders and a 31.2% share and Asia-Pacific with 72 tenders and a 22.4% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in September 2021

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for five tenders with a 55.6% share, followed by hydro with three tenders and a 33.3% share and nuclear with one tender and an 11.1% share.
