Longma is a 240MW hydro power project. It is located on Babian river/basin in Yunnan, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2003 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2007.

Description

The project was developed by Datang Yunnan Lixianjiang Hydropower Development. Datang International Power Generation, Beijing Guodian Anrong Energy Investment and Yunnan Pu’er State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd.
are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 70%, 25% and 5% respectively.

Longma is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 550 million cubic meter. The project generated 1,284 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $256.1m.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2003 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2007.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Chongqing Water Turbine Works was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 95MW nameplate capacity.

Chongqing Water Turbine Works supplied 3 electric generators for the project.
