The project is being developed and currently owned by Snowdonia Pumped Hydro.

Glyn Rhonwy is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 1.3 million cubic meter. The net head of the project will be 250m. The penstock length will be 100m. The penstock diameter will be 4m. The project cost is expected to be around $243m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 49.9MW nameplate capacity.
