The project is currently owned by NHPC.
Teesta Lower IV is a run-of-river with pondage project. The net head of the project is 25.05m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The penstock length is 45m. The penstock diameter is 7m. The project generated 720 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $312.522m.

Contractors Involved
Bharat Heavy Electricals was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of kaplan turbines, each with 40MW nameplate capacity.
