Renewables firm Coronal Energy has successfully completed a 34MW solar project in Tulare County, California.
Construction of the project was overseen by Panasonic and Blue Oak Energy, a division of Coronal Energy.

Currently in commercial operations, the Coronal Tulare facility uses its own solar energy to power and rotate its panels to optimise energy yields.
Under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA), the project will generate 87,500MWh annually, which will power 9,000 homes served by Southern California Edison (SCE).
Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company's energy solutions group managing director Jamie Evans said: "With its self-powered tracking technology, we're making solar smarter to bolster generation and improve the array's capacity factor.
"Ultimately, that feeds more clean solar energy to Southern California Edison and its customers, and we're proud to thus support SCE's solar and renewable energy leadership."

By GlobalDataThe new facility is part of a larger portfolio of Tulare Solar Center, which would total 80MWac, if fully built.
This project includes two sites, the 20MWac Nicolis site built on 144 acres and a 14MWac site located adjacently on the Tropico location and spread across 109 acres of land. The project also includes the Growers and Changala substations.
