Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has secured a contract to deliver its new G132-5.0 MW turbines at Nangang wind complex, which is being developed by Sinohydro in Tianjin, China.
As per the terms of the contract, Gamesa will be responsible for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 18 90MW turbines.

Gamesa's China CEO Álvaro Bilbao said: "This contract marks an important strategic landmark for Gamesa: not only is it the maiden order from the 5MW platform in Asia, it is the first signed order for the G132-5.0MW."
The 64.5m long G132-5.0 MW turbine has a rotor diameter of 132m and is designed with redundant modules, which ensure reliable performance and helps maximise energy output.
The turbines will be supplied during the last quarter of next year and they will be commissioned during the first quarter of 2018.
The project has the capacity to generate enough energy to power nearly 5,000 households annually.
