The Indian wind energy service provider, Inox Wind, has won two orders for projects totalling 100MW in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The orders are from an unnamed renewable energy independent power producer (IPP). They will require Inox Wind to supply, install and commission 25 units of its 100m rotor diameter (dia) wind turbine generator (WTG) for the Gujarat project, and 25 units of 113m rotor dia WTG for the Madhya Pradesh project.

The 113m rotor dia WTG is the newest addition to the company’s 2MW platform. The company states that it has been tested to have one of the highest generation performances, per kilowatt, of all WTG variants available in India.

The two 50MW windfarms combined will generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 50,000 households.

"Orders from a leading renewable energy IPP prove the competitiveness of wind power in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh."

Inox Wind CEO Kailash Tarachandani said: "These orders have further boosted Inox’s strong order book with major IPPs in India.

"Orders from a leading renewable energy IPP prove the competitiveness of wind power in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and ensure that Inox Wind continues to play a key role in further developing the wind energy industry in the two states."
