Italian renewable energy giant Enel Green Power has commissioned the 200MW Goodwell wind power farm in Texas county, Oklahoma, US.

Involving an investment of around $310m, the facility is owned by Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) subsidiary Goodwell Wind Project.

The now-operational plant has an annual generation capacity of 860 million kWh approximately, which is enough to power more than 73,000 homes in the country.

The renewable facility can also enable reduction of CO2 emissions by 450,000t annually.

"The project underscores EGP’s ongoing investment in the state and in the US renewable energy market."

EGPNA had arranged partial financing for the project through a $400m capital contribution agreement with a consortium led by JPMorgan.

Tradewind Energy was responsible for the development of the wind farm, which is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement with American Electric Power (AEP).
