Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured a contract from Pan American Energy Energias Renováveis to supply and install wind turbines for the 423MW Novo Horizonte wind park in Brazil.
The company will supply 94 of its V150-4.5 MW wind turbines for the wind facility, which is located in the Brazilian state of Bahia.

Vestas Latin America president Eduardo Ricotta said: “Vestas is pleased to further grow the partnership with Pan American Energy and support their expansion in Latin America with this project that starts their renewables operation in Brazil.”
Vestas plans to deliver and commission the wind turbines in 2024. It will also service the wind turbines under a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement.
Pan American Energy international development vice-president Enrique Lusso said: “This agreement shows Pan American Energy’s commitment to Brazil and its communities.
“We will keep on working and investing to become a strategic player in the energy industry in Brazil, as we are in other countries of Latin America.”

By GlobalDataLast month, Vestas received a 295MW order for the Zhong Neng offshore wind project, which is located offshore from Changhua County, Taiwan.
Under the contract, the company will deliver 31 Vestas V174-9.5MW turbines, which will have the capacity to power 300,000 Taiwanese households a year.
The Zhong Neng offshore wind project is being developed jointly by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and China Steel Corporation.
In the same month, Vestas announced it would withdraw fully from Russia as the country continued its invasion of Ukraine.
The company has suspended all new commercial activities in Russia and planned to halt its four wind farm projects in the country that were in development at the start of the invasion.
It withdrew from the Russian market after previously stating that it would proceed with ongoing contracts.
