Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned a 600MW unit at a 1200MW thermal power project in Chhattisgarh, India.

The project is located in Dhabra in Janjgir Champa district of the state. It will house two units that will have a capacity of 600MW each.

This is the second unit commissioned by the BHEL for the facility owned by Dainik Bhaskar Power (DBPL), the first being installed last year.

The scope of work for the power manufacturer included design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with associated auxiliaries and electricals, as well as state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation (C&I) and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) at the facility.
