Sunborne Energy has unveiled plans to build a 50MW solar thermal power project in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The company will develop the project in partnership with Kosla Ventures and General Catalyst Partners, from which it secured $25m in funding.

The project will be set up on a 200 acre plot with an investment between Rs5bn and Rs6bn ($100.m – $120m)

The company has also signed a power purchase agreement with the state government of Gujarat for the sale of electricity generated by the project.

The project is expected to be commissioned in the next couple of months, according to Business Standard.
