REpower Systems has agreed to provide a total of 12 wind turbines to Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) for a power project located in Alaska, US.

The wind turbines will be installed at the 24.6MW Eva Creek Wind Project, which will be commissioned next year.

The wind farm will use REpower’s Cold Climate Version MM92 turbines, each having a nominal output of 2.05MW and a hub height of 78.5m.

The wind farm is in line with GVEA’s goal of meeting 20% of the system load from renewable resources by 2014.
