RWE has entered into an agreement with PGE to sell its F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind project with a planned capacity of 350MW in Poland.
The wind farm is set be located about 50km off the coast, north of Ustka, in the Baltic Sea.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.
As part of the transaction process, RWE and PGE have already finalised the transfer to PGE of the environmental permit and related data for the neighbouring offshore wind area 44.E.1.
The company currently runs onshore wind and solar installations in Poland with a total capacity exceeding 660MW.
RWE offshore wind chief executive officer Sven Utermöhlen said: “We are convinced that, in synergy with their other portfolio, PGE is better positioned to realise this project than RWE would be on a standalone basis. However, our target to further grow our offshore wind portfolio remains unchanged.

By GlobalData“We are currently building four large-scale offshore wind farms in four European countries and have several further offshore projects under development.”
RWE currently operates 19 offshore wind farms in five countries, with a combined installed capacity of 6.2GW, of which 3.3GW is attributable to the company.
The company is also building four new offshore wind projects, including Sofia off the coast of northern England, Thor in Denmark, OranjeWind off the Dutch coast, and Nordseecluster north of the German island of Juist.
Once completed, these projects will provide an additional 4.8GW of capacity in total, with RWE’s share being 3.1GW.
In a separate development, RWE has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), a subsidiary of American Electric Power, for the entire output of RWE’s 200MW Prairie Creek located in Blackford County, Indiana, US.
Under the 15‑year agreement, I&M will buy electricity from Prairie Creek as part of its plan to secure enough generation capacity to match rising electricity demand in Indiana.
The contracted output from Prairie Creek will help I&M serve its expanding customer base by broadening and strengthening its energy supply portfolio.
When Prairie Creek begins operation, it will produce enough power to meet the annual electricity needs of roughly 42,000 Indiana households, supporting I&M in delivering affordable and reliable energy to its customers.
Earlier in October, RWE officially begun construction of Germany’s largest battery storage facility at its Gundremmingen site in Bavaria.
