Eco Wave Power reports record output during 3m waves at Jaffa Port

The wave energy company says February pilot project results show stable operation and the highest power levels recorded at the Israeli site.

Eco Wave Power Global said its pilot wave energy installation at Jaffa Port in Tel Aviv generated around 2,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in February and reached record output during higher wave conditions.

The company said the system operated for around nine days during the month under moderate sea conditions, with average wave heights of 1–2m.

During those operational days, the project produced approximately 2,000kWh of renewable electricity.

The company also recorded its highest wave conditions to date at the site at around 3m.

During those higher wave conditions, the system recorded average power production of approximately 20kWh and peak production of 56.7kW, which the company said were the highest average and peak production levels at the site so far.

Eco Wave Power said the results show the system can operate during elevated sea states while producing more energy as wave intensity increases.

The EWP-EDF One system at Jaffa Port has recorded zero downtime since the beginning of 2025, according to the company, with stable operation in wave conditions of 1m and above.

The Jaffa Port installation is a pilot-scale project using a limited number of small floaters designed to test durability, grid integration and production performance under different marine conditions.

The company said data from the 3m-wave events would be used to support the design and optimisation of future commercial-scale projects.

Future deployments are expected to use larger floaters and more units, which the company said could increase energy capture and capacity factors compared with pilot installations.

“February was an important month for us operationally,” said Inna Braverman, CEO and founder of Eco Wave Power. “Not only did we continue stable production during moderate wave conditions, but we also experienced the highest waves recorded at our site to date. Achieving record average and peak power production during 3m-wave events provides meaningful validation of our technology’s performance potential as we scale toward commercial projects.”

Eco Wave Power said it will continue collecting operational data from the Jaffa Port project to improve system performance and support its global development plans.
