Vestas has secured a 70MW order from Tessa Green Energy to supply 11 EnVentus V162‑6.4MW turbines for the Strazhitsa wind project in Bulgaria, with a long‑term Active Output Management 5000 service agreement included.
The scheme is one of the first major wind awards in the country after a long market pause and is seen as a milestone in the revival of Bulgaria’s onshore wind sector.

The Strazhitsa project will help support Bulgaria’s recent shift from a net electricity importer to a net exporter, as wind generation expands and reduces the economy’s exposure to volatile gas and power prices. Deliveries of the EnVentus turbines are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027 (Q1 2027), with commissioning targeted for Q2–Q3 2027.
Vestas has been active in Bulgaria since 2007 and now has more than 360MW of installed capacity in the country, giving it a leading position in the regional market. The company operates a local service organisation that supports wind farm operations and maintenance across Bulgaria and eastern Europe.
Vestas south-east Europe and central Asia VP sales and general manager Srdan Cenic said the Strazhitsa deal is particularly meaningful after the long gap in new Bulgarian wind activity and hopes it will help launch a new phase of growth.
Alexander Manolev, CEO of Tessa Green Energy, said the collaboration with Vestas marks the start of a strategic partnership as the company aims to become a leading regional renewable energy developer.
