SEG Solar has launched its second photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Greater Houston, Texas, expanding its total US production capacity to 6GW per year.
The new plant, Tomball #1, was inaugurated at an event attended by about 800 people, including company staff, local government officials, partners, customers, and media representatives.

The facility represents an investment of $200m and covers more than 500,000ft², making it the company’s largest module manufacturing site in the US.
Tomball #1 is also said to be one of the country’s largest HJT module manufacturing plants.
The facility can produce 4GW of modules each year across four production lines, focusing on SEG Solar’s SIERRA N series HJT modules that accommodate both 210mm and 210R wafer formats.
The new plant employs specialised manufacturing processes such as low-temperature soldering and precision butyl sealant application.
These methods are designed to improve module reliability, durability, and energy output.

“Tomball #1 is an important step in expanding our manufacturing capacity to meet that demand, with commercial operations expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.
“Looking ahead, we are advancing our third US HJT module manufacturing facility and planning a US cell manufacturing facility to build a more integrated domestic supply chain, strengthen long-term delivery capabilities for our customers and establish SEG as the largest crystalline solar module manufacturer in the US.”
SEG Solar was founded in 2021 and is based in Houston, Texas.
The company’s goal is to deliver solar modules to utility, commercial, and residential markets.
By the end of 2025, SEG Solar had shipped more than 7.5GW of solar modules worldwide and had reached a total production capacity of 6.5GW.
