This arrangement brings both geographic and technological variety to Sonnedix’s portfolio in the country.

According to the company, the transaction represents Sonnedix Chile’s largest refinancing to date.

The refinancing is supported by a portfolio that delivers stable and predictable income, backed by a combination of investment-grade private power purchase agreements and regulated revenue streams.

Sonnedix CEO Axel Thiemann said: “This record refinancing demonstrates the ongoing confidence our partners have in our ability to execute at scale, and in our commitment to driving sustainable, long-term solutions that support the energy transition.

“This milestone is a testament to the hard work and exceptional commitment of our Chilean teams, our partners and our global network.”

The transaction featured seven commercial banks. BNP Paribas, Bank of America, Crédit Agricole CIB and Santander served as joint lead arrangers and joint bookrunners, while BBVA, Goldman Sachs and MUFG acted as mandated lead arrangers.

Crédit Agricole CIB coordinated the hedging, BNP Paribas served as financial advisor and Centrus provided hedging advisory services.

Sonnedix received legal advice from White & Case on New York law and from Morales y Besa on Chilean law.

The lenders were advised by A&O Shearman on New York law and by Guerrero Olivos on Chilean law.

Other advisers included Aurora Chile as market advisor, Enertis as technical advisor, EY for tax and modelling matters, and Marsh as insurance advisor.

Sonnedix CFO Miguel García Mascuñán said: “This deal gives us the flexibility we need to keep moving fast. With a stronger financial base in place, Sonnedix Chile can focus resources on new storage and hybrid projects, and keep building on the momentum we have created in the country.”

Sonnedix’s portfolio has a total capacity of 12GW, comprising 5GW of operational assets, more than 1GW of projects under construction and a development pipeline exceeding 6GW.

Its activities span markets in Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK.

In July 2026, Sonnedix acquired a 260MW BESS portfolio in Tuscania, Italy.
