US-based investment firm Stonepeak has announced an equity investment in AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE), a distributed energy infrastructure company operating in the UK and across Europe.
ADE, established in 2024 with AGP Group, develops, owns and operates on-site renewable energy assets for commercial and industrial users.

To date, ADE has contracted 250MW of renewable energy projects across 200 sites and manages a project pipeline exceeding 1GW.
AGP will retain an interest in the company following Stonepeak’s investment.
Stonepeak said its investment will give ADE additional resources and expertise to launch new projects and accelerate development in the markets where it operates.
Stonepeak senior managing director Hajir Naghdy said: “Finding secure, reputable sources of distributed energy is becoming increasingly critical for businesses in Europe today.
“With its history of successful developments and transactions, diversified portfolio, strong cash flow and actionable pipeline, we are confident that ADE is well-positioned to capitalise on these tailwinds.”
The transaction is expected to be completed within the next few days.
Ashurst Perkins Coie advised Stonepeak on legal matters, while Corrs Chambers Westgarth acted for AGP. Stifel served as ADE’s sole financial advisor.
Stonepeak manages approximately $93bn in assets, focusing on infrastructure and real assets investments.
ADE specialises in financing, constructing, owning and operating on-site renewable energy infrastructure for business customers.
ADE CEO John Behan said: “Stonepeak investing into ADE is a significant milestone, and their investment is a testament to ADE’s successful execution and increasing scale.
“Their backing, deep infrastructure and operational expertise, and long-term approach give us an exceptional platform for the next stage of our growth.
“I am incredibly proud of what our team has built over the past two and a half years, with the support of AGP, and excited about what we can now achieve with Stonepeak.”
In July 2026, ADE obtained $194m (€170m) in debt funding from Crédit Agricole CIB and Franklin Templeton’s Benefit Street Partners, both of which are existing funding partners.
The new financing is designed to accelerate ADE’s growth and support the continued development and acquisition of distributed renewable energy assets across Europe.
