Business Expansion is one of our largest categories and looks at the core functions of business operations within the sector.

This consists of any projects that have expanded the company’s footprint in the sector, including: contract wins; launching in new territories; launching new product lines; the acquisition and expansion of facilities and real estate; acquisition of new machinery or other assets; improved logistics; partnerships; and significant staff increases.

In this category we recognise companies that have expanded their portfolios during the research period through the acquisition of new power assets, typically generating facilities such as wind farms or solar arrays.


This category recognises companies that have launched new companies or ventures during the research period. This is typically new business entities or joint ventures aimed at growth in specific energy markets. It does not include joint ventures and partnerships established to construct individual power generating facilities.


This category includes companies that have won EPC contracts for power projects and those that have secured contracts for the manufacture of parts and components used in power infrastructure.


This category focuses on companies that are engaged in projects related to the construction of new power generating facilities running on natural gas.


This category focuses on companies that are engaged in projects related to the construction of new hydropower generation plants.
