Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 17%, emerged as the top future of work-related job roles within the power industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 29% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 15% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 6% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent future of work roles include Management Occupations with an 11% share in Q4 2023, Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in power industry accounted for 47% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Schneider Electric, Siemens, Duquesne Light, Siemens Energy, and POWER Engineers. Together they accounted for a combined share of 47% of all future of work-related new jobs in the power industry.
Schneider Electric posted 1,886 future of work-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Siemens 1,674 jobs, Duquesne Light 467 jobs, Siemens Energy 445 jobs, and POWER Engineers 304 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 52.45% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023
The largest share of future of work-related new job postings in the power industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 52.45% followed by India (10.62%) and the UK (5.17%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 52.46% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
