Description

The project was developed by Blauwwind II, Orsted Borssele 1 and Two Towers. Diamond Generating Europe, Eneco Holding, Luxcara, Norges Bank Investment Management, Octopus Energy, Orsted, Others, Partners Group Holding and Shell are currently owning the project.

The wind turbines in the Borssele I & II - A are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Borssele I & II - B are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Borssele III are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Borssele IV are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Borssele V are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 1,500,000 households.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2020.

Power purchase agreement

Eneco Holding and Shell Energy Europe are the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors involved

Borssele Offshore Wind Farm (Borssele I & II - A) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SG 8.0-167 DD turbines. The phase consists of 91 turbines with 8MW nameplate capacity.

Borssele Offshore Wind Farm (Borssele I & II - B) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SG 8.0-167 DD turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 8MW nameplate capacity.

Borssele Offshore Wind Farm (Borssele III) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V164-9.5 MW turbines. The phase consists of 38 turbines with 9.5MW nameplate capacity.

Borssele Offshore Wind Farm (Borssele IV) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V164-9.5 MW turbines. The phase consists of 39 turbines with 9.5MW nameplate capacity.

Borssele Offshore Wind Farm (Borssele V) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V164-9.5 MW turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 9.5MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Vestas Offshore Wind were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
