Saeul 1 is a Generation III+ nuclear reactor developed by Doosan Enerbility, the main contractor for the project.

Doosan Enerbility was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. Korea Engineering and Construction was selected as an architect engineer for the reactor. The reactor system was supplied by Doosan Enerbility. The reactor vessel has been supplied by Doosan Enerbility. The material used for the construction of the vessel is SA508, Grade 3, Class 1. The civil works were carried out by Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd, Doosan Enerbility Co Ltd and SK Engineering and Construction.
