Description

The project was developed by Tenaska Virginia Partners. Tenaska Energy, JERA, Tyr Energy, John Hancock Life Insurance and J-POWER USA Development are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 35%, 17.5%, 17.5%, 15% and 15% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel oil. The fuel is procured from Williams Transco Pipeline, Shell Energy North America (US), L.P..

The project generated 3,700,852MWh of electricity.

The project got commissioned in May 2004.
