Vestas sells wind project in Mississippi to AES Corporation

BQE’s pipeline includes 300MW of late-stage development solar capacity and 700MW worth of mid-stage development solar projects.
Through this deal, the two companies aim to support the decarbonisation of the UK's power system.
The solar project will have the capacity to power nearly 40,000 homes in the region.
The two offshore facilities have a combined capacity of 2.8GW and can generate 10.5TWh of clean energy a year.
The company will also sell all its Russian power generation assets, which together have around 5.6GW of conventional capacity.
The 148.5MW wind facility will feature 55 units of GE Renewable Energy’s onshore wind turbines.
The oil and gas giant is set to take over operatorship of the project from 1 July.
