India’s power industry registered a 16.1% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 22.16% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 33.04% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 4.62% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 77.46% in September 2021, registering a 17.02% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.8% share, an increase of 56.25% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.75%, registering a 35.29% decline from August 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.99%, up 466.67% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 7.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Siemens posted 98 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 32.41% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 46 jobs and a 17.95% growth. Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista with 45 IT jobs and Adani Transmission with 11 jobs, recorded an 800% flat growth and a 175% flat growth, respectively, while Adani Power recorded an increase of 175% with 11 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.85%, up by 37.5% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.46% share, registered a decline of 22.77% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.69% share, flat growth over August 2021.
