November 2021 has seen a decrease of 8.66% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 16.01% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 40.58% in November 2021, a 35.48% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.93% in November 2021, marking a 24.56% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 18.84% in November 2021, a 23.53% drop from October 2021.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 8.41% in November 2021, a 20.83% rise over the previous month.
Top five power companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 18.84% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista posted 316 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 18.77% over the previous month, followed by Energisa with 10 jobs and a 41.18% drop. Iberdrola with 5 IT jobs and Compania General de Electricidad with 3 jobs, recorded a 25% rise and a 200% rise, respectively, while Siemens recorded a 33.33% decline with 2 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 96.81% share in November 2021, a 22.33% decrease over October 2021. Argentina featured next with a 0.87% share, flat growth over the previous month. Chile recorded a 0.87% share, a drop of 25% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.42%, down by 17.47% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 16.23% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 4.35% share, down 59.46% over October 2021.
