The project was developed by Akenerji Elektrik Uretim and is currently owned by Crescent Capital.
Akocak is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 767.5m and 744m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 1,842m. The penstock diameter is 1.82m. The project generated 257.44 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $124m.

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 40.8MW nameplate capacity.
