Al Badiya Solar PV Park, Jordan

Al Badiya Solar PV Park is a 23MW solar PV power project. It is located in Mafraq, Jordan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in October 2015.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Philadelphia Solar.

Al Badiya Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 220,000 square meters.

The project generates 42,000MWh electricity thereby offsetting 23,750t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $22.5m.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in October 2015.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the Al Badiya Solar PV Park (Al Badiya Solar PV Park-2) is sold to Irbid District Electricity under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2019. The contracted capacity is 11MW.

Contractors Involved

Philadelphia Solar was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.

Philadelphia Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the Al Badiya Solar PV Park (Al Badiya Solar PV Park-1). The company provided 48,000 modules each with 250W of nameplate capacity.

Philadelphia Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the Al Badiya Solar PV Park (Al Badiya Solar PV Park-2). The company provided 34,320 modules each with 320W of nameplate capacity.

The Al Badiya Solar PV Park (Al Badiya Solar PV Park-1) is utilising trackers supplied by Philadelphia Solar.

The Al Badiya Solar PV Park (Al Badiya Solar PV Park-2) is utilising single axis trackers supplied by Philadelphia Solar.
