Description
The project is currently owned by Saudi Electricity with a stake of 100%.
It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is crude oil. In case of shortage of crude oil the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in 1988.

The power generated from the project is sold to Saudi Electricity under a power purchase agreement.

National Contracting was selected to render EPC services for the oil fired power project.
Al Jouf Power Plant (Al Jouf Power Plant Expansion Unit I-II) is equipped with GE Power gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines, each with 60MW nameplate capacity.
Al Jouf Power Plant (Al Jouf Power Plant Expansion Unit III) is equipped with GE Power gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 60MW nameplate capacity.
Al Jouf Power Plant (Al Jouf Power Plant Unit I-V) is equipped with ASE gas turbines. The phase consists of 5 gas turbines, each with 24MW nameplate capacity.
Al Jouf Power Plant (Al Jouf Power Plant Unit VI-VII) is equipped with ASE gas turbines. The phase consists of 2 gas turbines, each with 24MW nameplate capacity.
