Description

The project was developed by Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur and N. Prior Energy. EWE, RWE and Vattenfall are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 47.5%, 26.25% and 26.25% respectively.

The wind turbines in the Alpha Ventus Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of jacket foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Alpha Ventus Phase II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of tripod foundations feature in the phase.

The turbines installed on the Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase I), are using Tubular Steel towers.

The turbines installed on the Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase II), are using Tubular Steel towers.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2009 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in April 2010.

Contractors involved

Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase I) is equipped with Senvion 5M turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines with 5MW nameplate capacity.

Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase II) is equipped with Adwen WWD-1 turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines with 5MW nameplate capacity.

Adwen and Deutsche Windtechnik were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
