Alpha Ventus, Germany

Alpha Ventus is a 60MW offshore wind power project. The project is located in North Sea, Germany. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in April 2010.

Description

The project was developed by Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur and N. Prior Energy. EWE, RWE and Vattenfall are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 47.5%, 26.25% and 26.25% respectively.

The wind turbines in the Alpha Ventus Phase I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of jacket foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the Alpha Ventus Phase II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of tripod foundations feature in the phase.

The project cost is $333.51m.

The turbines installed on the Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase I), are using Tubular Steel towers.

The turbines installed on the Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase II), are using Tubular Steel towers.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in April 2010.

Contractors Involved

Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase I) is equipped with Senvion 5M turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines with 5MW nameplate capacity.

Alpha Ventus (Alpha Ventus Phase II) is equipped with Adwen AD 5-116 turbines. The phase consists of 6 turbines with 5MW nameplate capacity.

Adwen and Deutsche Windtechnik were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
