Description
The project was developed by Enbridge, First Solar and Helios Energy. Enbridge Income Fund Holdings and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.
Amherstburg Solar Farm II is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 154 acres.
The project generates 23,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 2,400 households, offsetting 7,500t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $62.146m.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in September 2011.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.
Contractors Involved
First Solar was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.
First Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 244,000 modules at the site.
Enbridge Income Fund Holdings and First Solar were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
