Description

The project is currently owned by North Carolina Electric Membership.

It is a Gas Turbine power plant that is used for Peakload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Piedmont Natural Gas Pipeline.

The project generated 105,728MWh of electricity. The project cost is $496.691m.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in June 2007.

Contractors Involved

Mitsubishi Power Aero was selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.

Mitsubishi Power Aero was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 6 units of FT-8 Swift-Pac gas turbines, each with 57.3MW nameplate capacity.

Brush Electrical Machines supplied electric generator for the project.
