T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2020 with 593 tenders and a 45.4% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 365 tenders and a 27.9% share and Power Plant with 177 tenders and a 13.5% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 91 tenders and a 65.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 44 tenders and a 31.9% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 2.2% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in Q2 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 112 tenders with an 81.2% share, followed by solar with 16 tenders and an 11.6% share and hydro with eight tenders and a 5.8% share.
