The proportion of hydro technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Consulting & Similar Services with 12 tenders and a 35.3% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine tenders and a 26.5% share
  3. Supply & Erection: eight tenders and a 23.5% share
  4. Project Implementation: four tenders and an 11.8% share
  5. Electricity Supply: one tender and a 2.9% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific hydro power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for hydro technology tenders recorded in Q3 2020 with 15 tenders and a 44.1% share, followed by Pakistan with seven tenders and a 20.6% share and Nepal with five tenders and a 14.7% share.

Asia-Pacific hydro technology tenders in Q3 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. The Tata Power (India): 150MW from one tender
  2. Government of Gilgit Baltistan: 3.5MW from one tender
  3. United Nations Development Programme (United States): 0.8MW capacity from two tenders.
