T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in December 2020 with 104 tenders and a 39% share, followed by T&D Project with 74 tenders and a 27.7% share and Power Plant with 52 tenders and a 19.5% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 43 tenders and an 82.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 9.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 7.7% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in December 2020
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 40 tenders with a 76.9% share, followed by hydro with nine tenders and a 17.3% share and wind with one tender and a 1.9% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in December 2020: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Andhra Pradesh Green Energy: 8,500MW from one tender
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,220MW from two tenders
- Bangalore Electricity Supply (India): 1,060MW capacity from one tender.
